(1968-2008). The Foundation distributes approximately 50% of the funds it receives to research; 35-40% to educate medical professionals, patients, and the general public, and to support national support group activities; and the remaining 10-15% is used for administrative needs. Although the Foundation receives most of its funds from all segments of the general public, the Foundation also, from time to time, receives unrestricted educational grants from drug industry companies. The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation™ maintains a strict policy of neutrality, uninfluenced by such grants, since the Foundation's invaluable mainstay is its credibility and the responsibility to offer unbiased mainstream medical information.
